"The theme of the story is whether humans really have a destiny, and it's about the protagonist repeatedly coming back to life and redoing the parts of his life he regrets."
-Fujiko F. Fujio-

"Memories of the Future" is a sci-fi fantasy novella that was published in the magazine "BIG COMIC" by Fujiko F. Fujio in 1991. To commemorate the 90th anniversary of Fujiko F. Fujio's birth, it has been republished with the same binding as "Fujiko F. Fujio SF Short Stories Complete Works."

The protagonist, manga artist Nandō Rihito, once wrote a hit series that became a social phenomenon, but now at age 40, his series have ended one after the other, and he spends his days regretting the time that has passed, wondering, "Where is the light of the past now?"
One day, he goes to a golf tournament organized by a publishing company, and while playing, something unbelievable happens...!?

The serialization of "Memories of the Future" began when film director Yoshimitsu Morita suggested that he write the screenplay for the film. In 1992, the following year, it was made into a live-action film titled "Last Christmas: Memories of the Future," and Fujiko F. Fujio also appeared as a fortune teller, creating a great deal of buzz.
