Commemorating the 90th anniversary of Fujiko F. Fujio birth
Ukiyo-e works are here!
To commemorate the 90th anniversary of the birth of Fujiko F. Fujio, postcards, folding fans, and uchiwa fans featuring characters from F's works in ukiyo-e art are now on sale at the online shop "Hanzo Ukiyo-e Kobo."
Using the motif of the popular actor painting series "Senryo Yakusha Soroi-e" by the ukiyo-e artist Utagawa Kunisada, who is famous for his large-head paintings, the characters of Fujiko F. Fujio are colorfully colored. Enjoy the gorgeous and cute designs that use the three-stage gradation technique, which is still widely used today.
The characters were created to look like star actors. Based on the theme of "Going out for fun," each character is depicted full of energy, and the vibrant colors of the Edo Komon pattern give the piece an ukiyo-e feel.
A limited edition design featuring a large gathering of unique characters. This bamboo fan features the indigo blue (Hokusai blue) background well known from Katsushika Hokusai's works, and features the beloved characters in gold to celebrate the 90th anniversary of Fujiko F. Fujio's birth.
This work depicts characters from Fujiko F. Fujio's works as star actors enjoying a fun outing. The gorgeously colored Edo Komon patterns on this postcard set exude the feel of ukiyo-e.
